JJ Grey and MOFRO

JJ Grey and his band MOFRO exude rocking, funky, melodic, front porch realism in every song they play. Grey comes from a long tradition of Southern storytellers, and his songs oftentimes use the loss of his natural surroundings and the marginalization of the Southern culture he grew up in as a metaphor for universal truths. The band delivers his material with brilliant musicianship, resulting in music that is thought provoking, rhythmically dynamic and texturally mesmerizing.
“Nothing less than a perfect groove. Down-home, dirty soul.”—Rolling Stone Magazine

“Intriguing and fortuitous… The MOFRO vibe travels freely among swamp funk, blues, rock and soul, and does so with a certain down-and-dirty swagger that’s as real as it is appealing.”—Billboard Magazine

Johnny Polanco y su conjunto amistad
In his function as the fearless leader of the ultimate West Coast Latin party band, the New-York born with Dominican and Puerto Rican roots, multi-instrumentalist, composer, arranger Johnny Polanco has earned over the years a reputation for creating what writer Lina Lecaro categorized once as “the kind of infectious, rhythmic, multilayered Latin music that makes even the most timid wallflower abandon all restraint and give it a whirl on the dance floor.”
“ is guilty as charged for the current stability of tropical dance music in Los Angeles and throughout most of the west coast.”—Latin Beat Magazine

p.s. Wrap it all up with Boulder Outdoor Cinema and a showing of (what else?), An Inconvenient Truth.
