Finding the Right Colorado School District

Finding a home with great schools is important to many of our clients. Yet, most aren't sure where to find information about local schools.

If you're looking for a home or other real estate in anywhere in Colorado, buyers can start their research by looking up schools on the state's school accountability website. You'll need to know which schools serve the properties you are interested in. Check the MLS listing sheets provided by your realtor.

You can also start your search the other way around. Say you discover that the Bear Creek Elementary School here in Boulder ranks "Excellent" in overall academic performance according to the state. Perhaps, after contacting the school and talking to a few teachers and parents, you decide that you want your children to go to Bear Creek Elementary School. Your realtor can add this criteria to your search, finding homes that are only in Bear Creek.

We live in an era where it can seem as if expertise is as easy as plugging in a few keywords on Google. Yet, sifting through millions of search results from Google or other search engines takes a great deal of time. And knowing how to interpret that information is even more critical. As they say, there is a great difference between information and knowledge.

If you're shopping for a new home, do yourself a favor. Get in touch with a local market expert who can help you find answers to what really matters. Also, consider establishing a buyer's agency relationship with a broker you trust. It's the best deal in real estate because the fees for his or her services are almost always paid for by the seller. You'll also get better answers, much faster than if you only search on the internet.
