Comment Moderation

by Osman Parvez
Unfortunately, today I enabled comment moderation for the first time. A spammer was flooding the blog with comment spam.

In the past, I've resisted moderating because I believe in open dialogue. But I don't want to waste time deleting dozens of spam comments from the blog.

Feel free to continue to comment, even if you think it's confrontational. I'll post your comments, unless they're truly inappropriate. I'll try switching back to the usual unmoderated format in a few days.

  1. Another reason to switch to wordpress! :)

I just want to add that my word verification was guteye. Hehe. Sounds like a nursing term.

  2. Wordpress is great blogging software, but my blog still gets some nasty spam that somehow makes it through the filter. Unfortunately I have to leave my settings on moderated discussion to avoid having obscenities on display.

    (BTW - Guyute's a fun song!)

  3. Don't blame you for moderating. In an ideal world, only real people with something valid to say would comment on your blog, but that's not the case for any of us bloggers.
