With Gratitude

A Note of Gratitude

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. In my imagination, I can still taste the apple pie that my mother used to bake. I can still smell the mix of Indian spices and traditional American dishes wafting through the air at our community dinners.

Today, my appreciation is not quite so dessert focused, but even as a child, I loved all of the traditions around this holiday. Thanksgiving is a time to reflect on the challenges and successes of the past year, gather with friends and family, and express our gratitude.

This year, there's a lot on my list:

- We're nearing the end of the second year of a global pandemic. I'm grateful for science. I'm also grateful that several friends and family members were able to recover from Covid-19 with no apparent long-term health impacts. Some of you work in extremely high-risk professions, and I'm grateful for your service to our community.

- I'm thankful for family and friends. I know many people don't have close relationships, or have troubled ones.  I recognize how deeply fortunate I am for the abundance of people and the healthy relationships in my life.  Although some of my family and friends live further away than others, I'm so thankful that we were able to see each other in person this year.  I still can't get over how quickly my nieces and nephews are growing.

- From a business perspective, House Einstein is thriving. A beautiful array of smart, values-driven, caring Realtors have chosen this brokerage.  Sophie Kloor, Ian Steinmo, Britt Mestdagh, and Mary Herre - thank you for joining me in the creative sandbox that is our brokerage. You're truly amazing. It's a privilege to work with you at House Einstein, and I'm committed to steering our ship with skill and care.

-Of course, House Einstein wouldn't be here without the trust of our buyers and sellers. After nearly twenty years in this business, our relationships just continue to get better and better. Thank you for the opportunity to be of service to you.

- Finally, I want to add a note of gratitude to my wife, Leah. Not only does she tolerate my erratic and often unpredictable work schedule, she does so with patience and understanding - even on the weekends and even when I'm working on deals late into the night, as so often is necessary.  I am so grateful for your deep loving presence and unconditional support.

Happy Thanksgiving.
